In the afternoon we meet our group and go out for dinner. We have all tested negative for Covid. Yay!!

On our second day we are up bright and early, ready to explore the Gothic Quarter, where we walk through ruins dating back to the time Spain was part of the Roman Empire.

Our group then takes the subway to Sagrada Familia. Antonia Gaudi was the first chief architect of Sagrada Familia and it has been under construction for over 140 years.
My question: How did Gaudi find the time to design both Parc Guell and Sagrada Fami!lia? This is the type of question that a single working mom asks. The answer: Lots of assistants.
I am mesmerized by the changing light on the stained glass. The outside of the cathedral spires reminds me of a forest. I just have to sit and take it in. Wow!!

After lunch, I go exploring, walking the Ramblas and visiting the Mercado de la Boqueria. Even though I have had lunch, I can't resist having a little snack -- or maybe more than one. After all, I have done quite a bit of walking.

In the evening, Mom and I sit outside our hotel and watch street performers. Conveniently, there is a gelato cafe one block from our hotel, and Mom is in heaven. My favorite person to watch -- and to dance with -- is the older gentleman dressed in orange pants and shirt. He had some moves and could cut the rug.
